Application
Gongniu Cable’s covered cables are engineered for aerial installations. These cables primarily facilitate the overhead distribution of electrical energy under typical operating conditions. They are suitable for systems with voltages ranging from 13.8 kV up to 34.5 kV. It is important to understand that these products are classified as covered conductors, which means they do not carry an inherent voltage rating. For optimal safety and functionality, installers must mount these conductors on insulators or spacers that are appropriate for the specific service voltage of the system. Gongniu Cable advises users to meticulously evaluate the dielectric compatibility of the cable covering with the chosen insulators and spacers during the planning and installation phases.
Description
Our covered cables incorporate stranded, circular compressed aluminum conductors, ensuring efficient electrical transmission. A black, extruded semi-conducting shield functions as the conductor screen, enhancing the cable’s performance. The inner insulation layer predominantly features natural-colored thermoplastic polyethylene (PE) or cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). Similarly, the outer insulation layer employs thermoplastic polyethylene (PE) or cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). This robust outer layer, available from Gongniu Cable in black or grey, offers excellent resistance to weather elements and UV radiation.
Specifications
Gongniu Cable manufactures its covered cables in compliance with the ABNT NBR 11873 standard, which pertains to Covered Cables With Polymeric Material for Overhead Distribution Lines in Spacers. These cables possess a rating for normal service temperatures of either 75°C or 90°C, accommodating different operational environments. The product specifications cover constructions using both thermoplastic and cross-linked polyethylene materials. The designed operational voltage range for these covered cables extends from 13.8 kV up to 34.5 kV.
